MIA

I know that I haven't written anything here in a long while. I wont apologize for it, but I will say I do think about this place a fair bit.

Today I am going to think about what I can do for myself that will get me writting more.

This is not a New Years thing (although the time of year is making me think about change) but rather just something I know I need to be doing.

Perhaps there will be more later.

Short Post

Ok, so after the previous post MT began to get more and more wonky. My wonderful host/tech support guru, tried to help and between the two of us, MT broke.

Tonight, after a good hour on the phone (mostly me sounding like I knew what I was talking about and Reddz getting work done) MT got up and running and now things are more or lest back to normal.

Cant think of too much to talk about right at the moment, so I will have to say good night for now.

New and Improved?

Ok. So as you can see, the site is now up and running and looking dapper in its new digs.

The switch over has caused a few aches and pains and I do seem to be having some trouble with getting the stylesheet down, but other then that...well...there is a bit of trouble with a plugin I am desperately wanting to work.

I dont like the way the site looks at all and thankfully the Six Apart crew have finally released more then three styles for MT, however I can not for the life of me get them to work. So to help people like me get these styles working, they released a Plugin to get the styles working. Except I cant get the damn plugin to work right.

It's getting very frustrating. So if the site looks damn well messed up over the next little while, I apologize.

New MT

Well, the new version of Movable Type is now out and in use. MT 3.2 shows a vast amount of improvement over 3.1 and I am glad that I got it installed.

Now.

It appears either I have gotten dumber in the last year or that this version of MT has gotten harder to mess around with. Since I got Reddz to install it last night, I have managed to break it once and break the look of the site at LEAST 5 times.

I finally got it back together and not looking like a dogs breakfast for the moment and I will leave it alone until I can get a grasp of what the hell I am doing. Perhaps over the weekend I will be able to get this figured out. Six Apart solved the one thing with this new release that was bugging me before, a lack of default styles. Now they have gone and solved that issue for me (and won me away from Word Press for good) they have gone and made it ten times harder to install default themes.

I will post much more often as the weekend goes along.

MT 3.2

Is finally out!

Yay!

Long Time, No Write

Has the drought ended? Not sure. Like a farmer in the middle of a long dry spell, I know one day of rain doesn't make anything better. It needs to be consistent and over the long run.

Sometime this week, a longer post will appear about the Fringe. After that I will put up a post about a book I am reading.

I would like to think that maybe after this dry spell, more things will come along and I will write more.

Who knows.

But right now one of the cats is telling me that its time for bed.

Changes

Entry 1,234,789 about some change I have made that will eventually make no sense later in the archives.

Added the nav bar up top, the bar on the left and the links have been shifted around.

More changes are coming.

Time After Time

It has definately been a while since I wrote something in here that was meaningful. The last long entry I wrote was about the previous pope passing away and was just a rehash of a thousand other blog entries I had seen all over the internet.

I spent some time playing with layouts on the weekend, but didnt change anything because nothing seemed right or good enought to suit me. I find it very frustrating that about 50% of all my entries are about my inability to get a layout that makes me happy. I cant seem to stick with anything and nothing seems to make me happy, which is one of the reasons I dont write here that often. I dont write here that often because it frustrates me. It's hard to want to do something when you initial reaction is frustration.

If I had the money I would pay someone to design the site for me, but I dont think I could afford to have someone do it for me, not the way that I want anyway.

Right now, I dont know how long this bout of writing will last. Hopefully, longer then it takes to write this. If more comes, then more comes, if not, there should be another entry in a month or so.

I will Try

I am going to try to put something here, anything here, once a day. It may only be a line, it may only be a comment about the weather, it may only be nothing interesting.

Lets see how it goes eh?

January 9, 2005

Content = Site

With the previous entries statement about concentrating more on content rather then look and feel, I thought I would take some time to look into some things. First and foremost. Blogging ethics.

Doing a search on Google found a lot of pages with the two words "Blog" and "Ethics" in them. The first one (linked at the bottom of the page) I went to had what I was looking for. Now common sense dictates a lot. If you have even some common sense, you wont do certain things on your blog and you will stay away from certain practices. You wont edit or doctor information and/or photographs for the purpose of distorting information. You wont plagarize someone elses work and claim it as your own. You wont blur the lines between factual information and advertising. You will make sure that you are sensitive and compassionate when dealing with situations of tragedy and grief. All these things are mostly common sense to folks, however, that doesnt mean that all bloggers abide by them.

Note: There is no blogging commision or international law committee making rules and regulations for blogging. Following a guideline common sense rules and ethical guidelines is purely voluntary. There is no punishment for breaking any of these rules.

Breaking these rules can mostly result in one thing. Your readers will disappear and never come back. End of story. In other forms of journalism (such as newspapers and television) acts of lying and falsifying information can result in loss of job and career.

How does a set of non-enforceable ethics apply to me (not just me in general, but me Random Fusion). I see guideline as something to not only bring credibility to blogging as a whole, but to individual authors. If you say, "I follow this list of ethics for this site." It can lend a little more importance to your words. For me, Random Fusion, it means that I now am going to balance every word. Look at everything I saw and make sure that I believe what I am saying and that everything I say is true. If I dont think that something is 100% true, then you will know it and I will make the effort to prove or disprove the information I've presented.

How I Feel
I have, only by accident, never really blogged that often about anything that hard hitting. By nature I am non-confrontational and quiet. I dont say that much and usually tend to just follow the crowd. That being said, I like to think that my morals and ethics are on fairly strong ground. I believe that a ethical standard is required for bloggers. I think that if you want to write about anything at all and have it posted on the web, you should be willing to adhere to something. Namely, tell the truth; dont use others grief or tragedy for your own gain; and dont distort information for your own benefit. These are all things we learn as we grow up: Dont lie. Dont cheat. Dont steal. These things are pretty easy to follow and there are no real reasons why you shouldnt. End of story.

Changes II

Almost Done. Maybe later tonight or tomorrow night.

Last Change

This is the last change for the blog for this year. I promise. This year is going to be about content. This year I am going to do all that I can to make what I write interesting and enjoyable. I admit now I did not make the CSS here on my own, but I felt it was more important to concentrate on the the content. The life of any blog is how well its written and I want to do my best to make this blog well written and well read. I have come to realize now that it isnt how many people come, but how many come back.

Please come back over the next few days as I finnish up tweaking the css and the adjoining pages for my site.

Alls Quiet On The Western Front

No attacks over night. Which is a good thing. The unfortunate part is that I am not sure if it was something I did or if the attackers went somewhere else. For the time being, I have completely removed the ability for anyone but me to do anything to this site (I hope). All comments are turned off and there is no ability to use trackbacks on me.

I hope that today goes a little more smoothly.

January 5, 2005

Respite

Ok, after about a 4 and half hour spam assult, it appears over, for the moment. The last few times I have looked, there havent been any new spam trackbacks.

I have to admit that it was so frustrating that the idea of killing this blog and starting a new one wasnt that far fetched. I know that most people who have blogs are either used to it or accept the spam as a fact of having a blog, but for me, a small time blogger with an audience I can count on one hand, its really aggrivating.

More to come later, changes are still afoot and will be coming soon.

Spamming Bastards

I was going to spend today working on the site, adding some entries about some stuff and then trying to do a little more layout work.

However this has been all for naught. Today I am getting completely overwhelmed with p_o_r_n spam trackback pings. Dozens of them every ten minutes or so, all from different IP addresses. And I have to admit that its gone beyond infuriating to insane rage.

If the pings dont stop. The site will come down for a undefinate time until I get things sorted out.

January 4, 2005

Re-Arranging

You will have to excuse the look of the site at the moment as I am doing a little work around the house. Things will be messed up for the time being and I will no doubt forget to fix a few things, BUT, I am hoping to work on it bit by bit as the week goes on.

There wont be anything fancy and I hope that when I am done with it I can leave it up for a few months.

But we all know how I am, so lets hope for a few days and take it from there.

December 16, 2004

Comments

For those folks who want to comment here, just so you know, the comments you leave behind need to be approved by me before you will see them on the web page.

Just so you know.

December 15, 2004

Open Again

I desperately want to write here. I read other peoples blogs and web pages and wish that I could a) write as often as they do and b) write as well as they do. Now that comment should be tempered with the fact that I know there are thousands and thousands of blogs out there that are boring and inane. I try and keep my stupid stuff to a bare minimum, but sometimes you will see a handful of things in here that are selfserving and done only to make me feel better. I try and keep the spelling mistakes to a minimum and I hope that my grammer isn't too bad. I try not to talk about things I don't understand or don't know, so as to keep myself from sounding like a complete idiot, so you wont see a lot of political commentary here or social commentary either.

I stopped writing here last week for a handful of reasons, some of which I wont talk about and some of which I may talk about later. I don't say that to be mysterious or coy, but rather that I don't really know how to talk about them. Some of which are personal and some of which are just things that are messed up in my head. Lets be honest here, ALL bloggers write on the internet for the attention we will get, are getting or hope to get. Honestly, I can't even get my loved ones to come here regularly. I have to remind some people to come here and only a couple friends come here with any sort of regularity (to my LJ friends, I read my LJ friends list EVERY DAY without fail). So, what can I do to get more readers? Well, for one, write more interesting stuff I guess, give people a reason to WANT to come here. So, as of today, I will make a very big effort to put interesting links, comments about day to day stuff and a smattering of items not related to me (after I talk about me of course).

I have turned on the comments again and the trackbacks again. If you come here and read this, PLEASE comment. You dont have to say much of anything, just a "Hi, I was here." is enough. I see that I get a few random visitors a week and I would really like to know who you are and how or why you found me. For those of you who spam my comments with links to casinos and poker web sites, your work is logged, and will be sent to your Internet Service Provider. Ok, who am I kidding, you spammers are doing it from places where they dont care who you spam and where they are. But that doesnt mean I wont try.

Ok, so lets try this again.

*The closed sign comes down and lights come on again.*

December 7, 2004

Closed

Until further notice.

I dont feel like writing. I email you matthew, often enough to let you know how things are going, so for the time being, I am currently "away from the blog".

New Look

New layout for the time being. I am going to spend the week putting some serious thought into the site and getting it the way I want it. More to come later for sure.

October 25, 2004

Bastards

Less then 24 hours after unlocking the comments for Random Fusion, the bastards are spamming me again. Like it was almost immediately.

So, I am going to look up the next spam comment and track down these guys and report them to their ISP.

If that doest work, then we will figure something else out.

Sigh, isnt it nice that there are such good people out there? Folks who not only want to fill up your inbox with crap, they want to ruin your web page to boot.

To those Bingo bastards, give it a rest you morons.

August 25, 2004

Deja Vu

Yes you have seen this one before.

Yup, its back for a while.

Nope, it doesnt all work yet. But it will.

Come back for more.

August 22, 2004

Change

As you can see there has been a change.

Yup, new layout time. Felt I needed it.

Take a look around, only the about page needs work. This is a temp look until I can finally nail something down that will be good for me for the next while.

Enjoy.

May 29, 2004

New Look

Well, here it is. Another new look. This is the blog layout I have over at the other Random Fusion and I liked it so much that I have appropriated it for this site as well. All the linkage is not done as of 10am on Saturday but that will change. I will add a link to a colophon to tell all about the site, who the author was of the css and where the images are hosted.

May 17, 2004

To or Not To..

Switch. I am looking at changing my blogging software. I like the depth that MT has but I dont use all the tools. I dont really need to use all the tools. So it really is just a bit much. I think that perhaps I could use Blogger and be happy, but its on the low end of what I think I might need.

At this point I am trying or using Live Journal, Movable Type, Blogger and Radio. I like Blogger and MT the most with Live Journal following up last. The free version is VERY simple and seems to be very limited. Radio has serious potential. I like the layout, of both the basic templates and the posting system. I like that the software is on my home computer and not on some server I will never see (not that this is a problem now, I just like it more that its on my computer).

The most simple solution is just to go back to the old Random Fusion on Blogspot. I love the new templates that they have included and the new look of their site is a huge improvement. The only downside to it is that it doesnt REALLY allow me the room to grow my css and html skills that I would like. Movable Type has way more room for me to grow and expand. So, what to do.

At the moment I dont have the cash to go into the new Movable Type. So, I will keep using the version I have. I dont have the cash to pay for Radio Userland so that is out of the question. I think the middle ground on this is to keep using MT, post occasionally on Blogger and hope that some money comes in for me to pay for all of what I want.

May 13, 2004

Look For Changes

MT finally got around to releasing their new software. Moveable Type 3 was released today and well, the fee based system they have set up has got me thinking VERY VERY seriously about jumping ship.

When I started blogging, I didnt really want to pay for anything and that was what brought me to this software. I found someone who would host this for me for free and then I could use it for free. But now thats changing.

If I am going to have to pay then I want to pay something less then $699. I am sorry, I dont think that this is worth that much (note: that large amount is for the fullest features and most support, an unsupported, trimmed featureless option is avaialable for free)

Radio Userland is my first other option I am looking at now.

More later tonight.

May 10, 2004

Old Look

You will have to forgive me. The last look was nice and for no reason other then I am dork, I changed it to this.

The new Blogger came out this week and I really like some of the new templates. I want to make one of them mine. But! I dunno how just yet. So I put this look in place and left it at that.

More Later.

April 26, 2004

Whew!

Well, the hard stuff is now done on the site. The main page, the links page, the archives page and the other archive pages are now looking good. I know some content is repeated in some places. I will get around to fixing it right away. But for the time being. Its good enough for me to go to sleep with tonight.

April 25, 2004

New Look

Well, I know I promised a new look last week and never did it (I didn't lie about it, I just got side tracked is all), which I felt bad about, so I did a new look this weekend. Well, rather a re-done old look which only lasted about two days. This one should last a little longer I hope. Everything is in place except for a couple of the archives pages which need to be put into the new layout. Other then that, the look is done for now. This is the longest I have ever gone with one look since I learned how to really mess with my css.

The weekend was short, very short indeed. I worked Saturday and slept most of Sunday away. I had been tired all week and I think it just caught up with me. I slept the night away, got up at 7am ish and was up for a grand total of three hours before crashing again for another 8 or so hours. I hope that the coming week isnt too hard so that it happens again.

Nothing new to talk about tech wise at the moment. In the morning I will put together a couple links and notes for you all.

Night.

April 19, 2004

I turned them back on for two days and I got four spams on old entries. I know I can set up a black list and such, but for the moment I am going to wait till MT 3 makes an appearance. Until then, if you have something to say, email me.

April 16, 2004

Changes

Well, it finally happened. I got bored and now I'm working on a new layout.

Keep your eyes glued to this page for a new look.

Hopefully I will have something by the end of the weekend.

March 10, 2004

Sigh

Ok.

As you can see, will see and then wont see after tonight.

I screwed up.

I am making a new lay out, going with a very simple design.

I deleted but did not save the previous style sheet when I tested something out.

Damn.

So I KNOW things look ugly.

Come back tonight.

February 22, 2004

Readers

One thing that all blog writers want (I wont call them or myself authors, writing in a blog does not make anyone an author) is a large number of readers. I get about one or two unique readers a week here. That is, about one person per week is new here and never been to the site before. The remaining are people who have been here once or twice before and then myself. I keep all the links I like to read there and its also my home page.

I want people to come and read my site. I want people to come and check me out and follow my links and tell their friends about my site, and tell them to come here. Its a vanity thing. I want to know that my readers are more then just a couple friends, my dad and my fiance (not that I dont appreciate their vists, I do, REALLY do appreciate them). I go and read Wil Wheaton's site (you can find the link in my links section) almost every day now. I really like his style of story telling and I like that he share important personal stuff with the world. It makes a connection with me and his other readers, each time he writes something personal and honest. I would like to have my site be like his one day. A large number of loyal readers, people who, for the most part, have intelligent and positive feedback on what I write and that it makes them feel good or cry or happy when they read what I have written. Wil is a talented guy.

I try numerous things to get people to come here. Number one in all that is I have a fair number of links on my collection of pages. I link to sites with interesting content and a well done layout. If the layout is bland but the content is excellent, then how it looks is irrelevant (which should be the case with all of them). I like to recommend sites that I have linked to my friends. I like to tell people about the sites that I go to and enjoy. Sometimes people who would never have found that site otherwise, rave about a site I have recommended, which is something I like. And I REALLY REALLY like it when they tell people where they found this new site from. It kinda irks me when they say "I found this excellent site, blah, and its so good, you should go there." without saying that they were told about this site from a friend. Bad ettiqute perhaps?

Well its late and I am pooped.

February 16, 2004

Added something..

Can you see whats new?

More Good Linkage

It's been a while since I last put anything here about some of the links that I have and which ones I read. So without further ado, more links:

For the Tech heads that come here:
Absoblogginlutely This is a great site for folks like me who are either into tech support, net administration or general IT. Check him out regularly.

Decaff is a pretty heavy mac site. The author regularly comments on all things mac and IT in general. The layout is nice and his writing style is easy to read without lacking intelligence.

Server Geek is one of the most tech laden sites I read regularly. This one is short, sweet and to the point. I have foud a ton of good links, trackbacks and articles from this site.

For the Anime folks who cant get enough Far East:
Alive in Kyoto. The author of this site doest say too much, but he doesnt need to, the pictures he takes of Kyoto are fantastic. Check him out.

The Big Guy, Big White Guy that is, is Randall van der Woning, a Canadian living in Hong Kong. Randall has gotten a large following in the last year or two (myself included) and has even been interviewed by CNN's Hong Kong affiliates. He is an excellent writer and photographer.

For those of you who want more New York in your life:
Tien Mao is a sport/pizza enthusiast in NYC who writes a pretty damn good blog. Photographs have begun to appear a little more regularly and it appears he knows his camera.

More New York Goodness can be found here. This site leans a little more to politcal commentary and since I know very little of that area, I cant say wether the author knows his stuff. Check it out and find out for yourself.

Damn Good Reads:
Wil Wheaton was Wesly Crusher on ST:TNG in the 90s. He left the series and pretty much disappeared. A few years ago, he began his own website and since then has grown a well read, hugely linked to, popular blog. Wil is now an accomplished author, well ajusted actor and a excellent political commentator. This is a excellent site and a must read.

My Friend Matthew began this site about a year ago. He blogs about a wide range of topics and ideas. Read his blog or else.

February 15, 2004

Changes

David Bowie sang about it, I did it.

Was determined all week long to put my archive links onto another page and make a list of all posts on that page. Well if you look at the nav bar up there, you will see that there is a arhives link. That link will take you to the archives page (obiously) which now has all the links to my previous entries you could want. It was a lot easier to put together then I thought and I am pleased at how it looks.

Since there is less clutter in the links area on this page, I have opted to have less posts listed here, which in return will make the page load faster.

Well thats all the cleaning and such info for today, I think I will post something longer and more interesting later on today.

February 10, 2004

So Far..

After getting some good work done here last night, I am now bouyed by significant levels of confidence in my skills. So I am tackling another site tonight.

So far its coming along well and doing what I want it to. I am basically taking a old page which was made out of tables and turning it into pure (except for one cell) CSS. I am happy with how well it is going.

I will say which site it is and provide a link to it later tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Stay tuned!

February 9, 2004

Well There You Have It.

I had a couple hours of trouble free time with the blog workings and so I got some house cleaning done. You can now see the links portion is shorter, with my links from blogrolling moved to the links page. The blogs you see listed to the right are the ones I go to on a regular basis to see what they are saying.

You can also note that there is navigation section under the banner. This will contain more important links, such as the "links" link, a link to my host, a link to an about page, a link perhaps to a resume and to other pages that I am in control of and deem important.

I cant promise this is the last and final layout, more then likely it isnt. But I will work hard to be happy with what I have here now (I am) and hopefully this entry will make some sense in a few weeks or months even when the layout hasnt changed a dozen times.

More another night. Early day at work tomorrow and then a day off. Wednesday will be the day to do important stuff that I dont normally get around to during the week.

Laters.

February 8, 2004

One More For Today

Layout changes happened today. I finally figured out a way to get everything into the center of the page nice and neat. A table. Everything you see here is inside one simple cell, centered in the middle of the page. It isnt css but it is finally doing what I want. Now that I have the stuff positioned where I want it and doing what I want. I am going to work hard on content for the site.

Over the next day or so I am going to work hard on content. What do I want to put here and do I want to avoid.

Thanks to those of you who have been coming here while the site has been all wonky, no word yet as to the source of the problem and if its gone yet. I will make a post when I can. I should think this is the last thing I will be doing this evening as I have no doubt my luck will run out very shortly.

Stayed tuned for more adventures.

hehehehe.

I was about to type, if this page fails to come up, go to this link, but how would you know to go there if this page doesnt come up? So! Bookmark this now:

Random Fusion @ LJ

You wont find too much there, but its still good to keep you entertained.

Nothing New

Still no word from my host about wether or not our troubles have been fixed or not.

Please be patient with us as we try and track down the problem.

I am working on a suitable layout for future work and some ideas for posts are floating around my head.

Please come back.

February 1, 2004

Still Working

Still working on the trouble.

Still working on the layout.

Still no long posts.

Maybe something new by the end of the day?

January 31, 2004

Trouble

Still having it.

No long posts until problem uncovered and trouble over with.

Trying to make a new layout. Not succeeding. Getting very upset. I am trying very hard and it isnt working. I dont know how long I want to keep beating my head against the wall on this.

January 26, 2004

Troubles

The site has been having some trouble.

When Reddz and I can figure it out, then the posts will be regular again.

I also refuse to let this layout thing get the best of me. So, come every day and see what new and wacky layout I have.

When things are right with the server.

January 25, 2004

Pissed Off

If you have been watching this blog today (when it wanted to work that is). You probably noticed the way that the blog looked changed about a gazillion fucking times. Well, the usual thing happened. I got itchy ass and wanted to make it better, but then didnt like what I changed it to and so changed it all together.

This process of constantly changing my layout is begining to frustrate the hell out of me. How the hell am I supposed to try and get readers in when I keep changing the fucking look every damn day.

I WANT to MAKE a layout from scratch that I like. I do. But I dont know how and that frustrates the living hell out of me so much it hurts. I want to blog well and get readers in and make this site big, but it aint gonna happen if I cant freaking make the layout work the way I want it to.

Fuck.

January 19, 2004

Not Defeated

But out for the moment.

The damn layout has begun to be obsessive for me. And to make it worse, it wont work sometimes. I try to get it to do something I want and it wont do it. So. For the moment. The blog will have a generic layout and style from MT and we will leave it at that. I kind of like this look and so it will stay. For the time being, which will be for as long as possible, or until I master the look I want.

There is some trouble with the site, so if your not always getting me, sorry, keep trying, you will get it eventually. Stay tuned for the answers. Reddz and I couldnt figure it out. So, until we do, be prepared for page errors.

Well, more later.

January 18, 2004

Trouble

We appear to be having random (ha!) technical difficulties that are keeping me from posting or working on the site.

Stay tuned for more stuff when things are cool again.

January 16, 2004

New Content

New, regular, content is coming I assure you my three regular visitors. The layout is coming along, I think, nicely and I am beginning to look at it being done. However, the last couple of nights I have had a little trouble connecting with my host to get some shot posts on and so it looks like nothing is happening. But rest assured, something is happening.

Keep your eyes to the page.

January 15, 2004

Still Coming

Well, I like the layout but the image at the top, while from one of the best movies ever made, didnt seem to be what I was looking for.

So now I am beating at the blog with a fine toothed design comb to get what I want out of it. I think I am getting there, somewhat. Maybe. Hopefully.

To the few people who are coming here to read the little that I do write, thanks, sorry for the sudden stop in what was looking to be a promising year of content. Once I get a layout that I am semi-comfortable with, I will get back to making the content worth reading again.

Well, as you can see, its really late and I am tired.

New Lay Out

As you can see there is a new layout in place (so much for my going for a long period of just content).

I am working on a detailed links page, a detailed about page which will include some more info about the site other then whats in the "developed using" section. On this page you will find all the blog links and comic links and what not that you usually find on the right hand side here now. I am doing this to shorten the load time of this page, to make the links a little more easy to get at (so you dont have to scroll down so far and so that things are a little more organized. On the links page you will find a short description of each blog and the blogger.

In the navigation section above me here, I will put links to the links page, to the about page, and to anything else I decide to put there. I am in the process of trying to decide what I should put there.

There will be another post today for sure.

Ha!

I fooled you!

I said that I wasnt going to have a new layout for a while and I that I would concentrate on the content! Ha!

New look is somewhat in place. Perhaps.

I feel it could use something more.

One Year

Well, as of tonight it has been one year of "blogging" for Random Fusion.

Yay!

The first post went out for a Blog*Spot blog which I then updated to a professional account in the new year. I had actually been writing journal like entries on my website, but actual blogging didnt actually begin until December 30, 2002.

A lot has changed in the last year.

Recap
-quit job after three years
-was unemployed and not going to school for the first time EVER
-got new job
-Shauna moved in with me
-got engaged
-had second christmas with Shauna
-had second birthday with Shauna
-oh yea...got engaged
-started using Movable Type
-started learning CSS

The past year has been hard and great by turns. Employment wise, the year has sucked ass bad. Personal life wise, this year, was the best it has been ever. I look forward to all that 2004 brings.

Hey, What, No Changes?

Nope, none yet.

Yet. When I adopted the last layout (which was one that I had used before but without the center container) I had noticed that almost every week I had an entry about how I was going to, had already or I was in the process of changing the layout. I saw a lot of posts, so I said that I would leave the layout alone for a month, which is coming up pretty soon. I am thinking out the layout this time before I try and implement it. I have a rough idea of what I want, but cant really figure out how to make it.

A fair number of the blogs listed in my links are there because I like the look of them. Some are very simple and some are full of colour and pictures and art.

For my new layout, I would like to try and implement a kind of painting like look. If you have ever seen the DVD for Vanilla Sky, the opening dvd title screen is what I would like, which I think would take a lot of flash.

For now, the layout here will not change. I am only going to implement it, once I am sure that I am going to be happy with it. So what you wont see is hours and hours of dreamweaver time, hundreds of changes and me going, ahhh thats crap, NEXT! When you do see a change, it will be a good change and you will be amazed.

Huh?

Well, as you can see, the layout has changed.

I liked the look of the last one, but... it wasnt me.

So, we have gone to something similar with a small change.

More posts will be coming soon.

New Layout!

Ok, the new layout is finally in place with some greatly appreciated help from Kevin over at www.polemics.ca/.

Thanks again Kevin, obviously this site wouldnt look like it does without your help.

That being said, the colour scheme with change slightly as will some minor things, but over all this is a great look and I am glad that I have finally got it work.

Thanks again Kevin.

Again?

uhmm...

yea..

See its like this, its not you, its me. I just dont think I'm right for you. I think I need someone more professional looking. Not to say you arent great, but your better suited to be with someone else and I think I should let you go. I think we will both be more happy this way.

NEW LAYOUT! OMG! Again?!?! Yup! New layout in the works!

Keep your peepers peeled.
