Currently Reading
Reading is something that my dad instilled in me at a very young age and it has only grown in my adult years. Currently I am reading:
The Thousand Orcs, by R.A. Salvatore.

From Fire to Flood: A History of Theatre in Manitoba.

Sanford Meisner on Acting

and
Tom Clancy's: Shadow Warriors

I tend to read, as you can see, several books all at once over a fairly long period of time. I usually read lighter books in the bath or while sitting in the bathroom (TMI?).
The theatre book is one that I got a few years ago when I was in University. When I was in University I took some acting courses and it was one of the books that was required reading. It details the teaching of Sanford Meisner, a leading teacher of the 1950s, 60s and 70s in New York. He teaches that for an actor to make a scene "real" or to make it believeable, the actor should not, as some teach, reach into his past and find a similar situation to bring about a desired emotion but rather use his greatest tool, his imagination.
R.A Salvatore, is one of the foremost fantasy authors of the last ten years (other then Robert Jorden of course) and his latest trilogy is now in its second book. The first one, which is pictured here, is now out in paperback and is, so far an excellent read.
From Fire to Flood is an amazing local history book. Winnipeg has a vibrant and strong theatre community in all areas. It is a definate must have. For me the book has personal connections as I know most of the people that are mentioned.
Tom Clancy writes non-fiction as well as he writes his fiction stuff. Shadow Warriors is an in depth history of the Special Ops. I would only recommend this books for folks who like military history. It doesnt really talk about much else.
Well thats all thats by my bed. Dont forget to read. Its good for you.
